About the Esports Arena expansion at the SoLa Technology and Entrepreneurship Center Powered by Riot Games:
The first-of-its-kind in South Los Angeles, the Esports Arena and Gaming Center opens new access to skills, leadership and entrepreneurship training to break down barriers to career and educational attainment in the video game and esports industries. The 3,000 sq ft arena hosts 40 high-end gaming PCs, a streaming studio, event space and stage.
The Esports Arena and Gaming Center is the latest expansion of the SoLa Technology and Entrepreneurship Center Powered by Riot Games, a state-of-the-art 13,000 sq ft facility located at the SoLa Beehive in the heart of South Los Angeles.
The center aims to train and inspire the next generation of Black and brown technology and entertainment professionals, leaders and entrepreneurs from South LA. The facility includes creative and learning labs, a digital production studio, podcast studio, Live Nation Entertainment Jam Room, recording studio, VR headsets, game consoles, old school video games and more.
This project wouldn’t have been possible without the partnership of Ashley and Marc Merrill and Riot Games. Their vision and commitment to opening new access for disadvantaged communities to technology careers and education will help produce generational change in South LA.
